Brendan Butler

Director of Strategy, Trade, EU and International Affairs - IBEC

EU policy is developed through IBEC’s Brussels office, the Irish Business Bureau, which also provides input to UNICE, the EU umbrella business organisation. Given the openness of the Irish economy, the role of trade policy is to influence EU and Government policy in relation to WTO issues, trade facilitation, inward investment and competitiveness. Through the Asia Business Forum, the division has developed links with Enterprise Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs, to promote trade and investment in the Asia Pacific region.
