NCC Structure
The National Competitiveness Council (NCC) reports to the Taoiseach on key competitiveness issues for the Irish economy together with recommendations on policy actions required to enhance Ireland's competitive position.
The NCC was established by the Government in May 1997 as part of the Partnership 2000 Agreement. Forfás, the national policy and advisory board for enterprise, trade, science, technology and innovation, provides the Council's secretariat.
Council
members are appointed by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
The current membership consists of:
Representatives from the Departments of the Taoiseach,
Arts, Sport and Tourism, Communications, Marine & Natural Resources,
Education & Science, Environment
& Local Government, Finance
and Transport, and from InterTradeIreland
attend Council meetings in an advisory capacity.
