Don Thornhill, Chair of the National Competitiveness Council, addressed the annual conference of the Irish Primary Principals Network in City West hotel on 29 January 2010. The theme of the conference 2010 was 'Primary Education: A Human Right or a Privilege?'. Other speakers included Minister for Education & Science, Batt O'Keeffe, TD; Fergus Finlay, Chief Executive Officer, Barnardos; Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, President, Dublin City University; and Vincent Browne, Broadcaster and Journalist.
