Ireland’s Competitiveness Challenge 2019 report identifies a range of recommendations that address both immediate competitiveness issues, and more medium-term challenges, aimed at enhancing Ireland’s competitiveness and productivity performance.
The report discusses six challenges under two overarching themes of Productivity and Cost. In relation to productivity, the focus is on three issues: the digital economy; infrastructural investment; and skills and training. The focus in the cost section of the report is on: the cost of credit; legal services costs; and, insurance costs.
