Ed Brophy

Ed Brophy is Head of Public Policy for Amazon in Ireland and also manages EU strategic policy. His pan-European work focuses primarily on competitiveness, economic and industrial policy, and the regulatory frameworks shaping Europe’s digital and technology sectors.

Previously, Ed served as senior advisor to the Minister for Finance and President of the Eurogroup, Paschal Donohoe. As the Minister’s chief political and policy adviser, he supported his work across budgetary policy, Eurogroup engagement and EU negotiations, including during the Brexit process and the COVID-19 pandemic. He earlier served as Chief of Staff to the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection during Ireland’s EU/IMF economic adjustment programme. Ed also chairs the governance committee of the ADAPT Centre, Ireland’s leading research institute for AI.

He holds degrees in law and economic policy from Trinity College, Dublin and is a qualified solicitor.
